Our Services Bring Out CONFIDENCE in the WHOLE PERSON on the Spectrum

Our Whole Self is both
Who we ARE and What we DO

Whole Self Center Services Support Children and Adolescents with Autism

  • to discover their unique human qualities, such as being creative, patient, and grateful, which help them express who they ARE as individuals.
  • to help them practice their goals and expand on what they can DO for themselves based on the specific ways autism characteristics affect their lives.

The Whole Self Center’s Services

Intensive Individual Support Services

Let’s Figure It Out Together

Our IISS technicians are trained and supervised to interact with the child/adolescent they serve so they can adapt teaching approaches that support individuals to complete their life goals. They create opportunities for learning life skills, exploring interests, developing relationships, and increasing independence. Our IISS program directs IISS technicians to focus on showing the person they are capable and valued.

Respite Care

Relax & Enjoy Yourself

Unlike IISS technicians, Respite Care workers do not schedule teaching time or ask an individual to follow a list of instructions. Respite Care for someone on the spectrum is essentially highly focused care giving. Not only do Respite Care Workers need to convey how valuable and capable an individual is but also be prepared to address an individual’s unique autism characteristics.

Therapeutic Integration

Have Fun at our
Whole Self Friendship Center

Children and Adolescents who come to our TI Center look forward to coming back. We designed our center to be a clubhouse to encourage having fun, being in a group, and transitioning to different experiences. There are six different spaces where TI technicians can guide participants to practice individualized social skill goals. We offer choices to individuals, pairs, and groups and encourage friendships by offering a variety of activities, such as games, crafts, interactive videos, physical, mental, and sensory exercises, and community outings.

Family Consultation

Someone Who Will Listen

Family Consultants brainstorm with families to create and review goals that benefit the well-being and development of the individual receiving Autism Waiver Services.
Families and Family Consultants discuss a variety of ways to support the individual to accomplish personal goals, such as to become more independent, make choices, develop positive behavior, interact in social settings, and practice daily living skills. FC can be conducted virtually or in person.

Adult Life Planning

Plan For Meaningful Days

ALPs help individuals 14 or older who are receiving autism waiver services plan to transition to comparable services they’ll need as an adult. ALPs follow the individual’s development of skills they need help with and those they can do on their own that will impact where they will live in the future.
ALPs find ways to support the individual to identify interests they can apply to employment and enjoy in their community. ALP can be conducted virtually or in person.
